Elegant sideboard with shelf, produced in northern Italy at the end of the nineteenth century. The two decades between 1870 and 1890 constituted a particular stylistic era known as Historicism or Eclecticism, that consisted in mixing elements from previous styles to create something that is new. The sideboard is the visual representation of the Rococo Revival style, some examples can be identified with the curved shape of the doors, the finely engraved decorations, the briar-root manufacturing and the framed back part.

The furniture has been made with solid veneered walnut wood exploiting a specular effect on all three drawers. The restorer maintained the original color and revived it with a hand of shellac and wax.
