Information: There were many noblemen and women who were portrayed by Frans and many of these portraits do not indicate the name of the subject. Portrait of a man is one of these works there the hand of Frans can be recognised but not the name of the subject portrayed.
The lime wood frame is lacquered black with profiles in gold leaf. It has undergone considerable ageing that has left it very “ruined”.
Both portraits are sold together.
