Information: reproduction of a painting that can be attributed to Francesco Fidanza, a famous artist from the province of Città di Castello. His signature trait in painting landscapes is that of capturing changing skies. His works often present skies marking important changes in the weather, with large clouds and intense light offsetting the darker areas. In this work Fidanza again depicts the sky during its change of mood: heavy clouds herald the onset of a storm at sea.
The frame is hand-carved in lime wood and finished in a patina of gold leaf.
