A sideboard of majestic, almost monumental presence that recalls some lines of the Italian Renaissance style. The cabinetmaker, during the design phase, was determined not to create a piece of furniture that resembled the others already on the market. His idea gave rise to this sideboard that the craftsman dared to embellish with a hand-carved putto in the centre and two, fully-round columns enhanced with Corinthian capitals.
The rosettes and the mouldings that adorn this sideboard are all in hand-carved wood. The interior is divided by two removable shelves. The neutral tones of the lacquer are very aged and worn.
The sculpted parts have been enriched by the application of silver leaf onto an earthen-coloured base. The carving is undoubtedly the outstanding feature that embellishes and harmonizes the sideboard. The invention and imagination of the craftsman also led to the creation of a secret compartment that will be revealed only to the buyer.
