A faithful reproduction of a trumeau in eighteenth-century Venetian style: the original can be found in a private home in Venice. This piece of enormous visual impact is often used as a formal element in reception rooms. The trumeau was constructed in the mid-XX century, the work of a skilled and passionate master cabinetmaker. The details of this trumeau are exemplary of eighteenth-century Venetian architecture. As can easily be noted, the most beautiful characteristics of this piece can be found in the inlays that, like lace, enrich the artistic value and workmanship of its author. The base of the trumeau is in solid larch wood modelled by hand thanks to the use of the craftsman’s tools. The structure was then veneered in top-quality walnut burl and streaky walnut, contoured by cherry wood fillet.
