Reproduction of a seventeenth century cabinet composed by two separable bodies. The first cabinets created started to appear in the 1600’s and are considered luxury furniture. The top of our cabinet is composed of sixteen diamond-cut panels which are embellished with wrought iron plates and surmounted by knobs. Behind the ashlars are respectively concealed four drawers and two lateral doors. The sides re-propose the same ashlar of the front which is enclosed in a frame of embellishment. The superior body is based on four twisted columns connected between each other by four different turned crosspieces. Enriched by the engraved fretwork, the shape of the contoured waistband gives the appearance of an apron. The cabinet has been realized with American walnut, and subsequently has undergone an aging artificial process. This procedure allowed the enhancement of the walnut color and the ebonized look of the carvings.
