A sideboard reproduced in eighteenth-century Venetian style with complex forms. Its complicated construction, as well as its uniqueness, presents a series of round projections and recesses that only a master cabinetmaker is capable of creating. To carry out this particular technique requires extensive experience that is very difficult to find in newer generations. The base in antique larch has been veneered with walnut burl, sheets of walnut, and rosewood fillet. Another peculiarity of this sideboard can be found in its mouldings that have been joined vertically piece by piece in order to lend a sense of continuity and uniformity between the wood grain and the burls. The warm finish was obtained through the use of water-based colours, shellac, and beeswax. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any further information or clarification.
