Antique Ash-Veneered armoire
Attributed to the Austro-Venetian Region, First Half of the 19th Century (ca. 1820–1845)
An elegant antique two-door armoire attributed to the Austro-Venetian region between Friuli and present-day Slovenia, crafted during the first half of the 19th century. The cabinet is constructed of solid larch wood and enhanced with a finely book-matched ash veneer, showcasing the wood’s striking natural grain.
Its clean, well-balanced proportions, molded cornice, and delicate carved foliate ornaments at the upper corners reflect the Neoclassical style that was widespread in the workshops of northeastern Italy and the Central European regions during the early 19th century.
The interior is fitted with three adjustable shelves, providing practical and versatile storage for a variety of uses.
The armoire has been carefully restored, preserving its original character and craftsmanship. It has also undergone a professional anoxic fumigation treatment against wood-boring insects, ensuring complete eradication of any infestation and promoting its long-term preservation.
A piece of exceptional charm and quality, this wardrobe is ideally suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors, where it serves as a timeless statement of fine European craftsmanship.
