Console with an austere design in Fratino style, reminiscent of a refectory table. The entire structure of the console was built in solid American walnut. This elaborate drawer was carved by hand by the master inlayer who drew inspiration from a frieze of a noble family’s coat-of-arms found near a Tuscan villa. The polisher finished the entire console in a blond walnut patina and, to highlight the frieze on the drawer, used a darker colour on the rest of the structure.

To harmonise both glossy tones, a light coat of beeswax was applied. The particularity of the frieze inlaid by hand stands witness to the old noble families born during the Middle Ages and found throughout Italy. With the development of municipalities and the Italian State, many of these noble lineages disappeared due to the lack of power they could exercise over their lands and their workers, who were organised as actual villages.
