A particular sideboard in seventeenth-century Veronese style, reproduced using antique Italian walnut. The four curved doors are made even more special by their intrinsic history. They were salvaged from parts of a headboard from a nineteenth–century bed owned by an ex-religious boarding school. In the past, throughout Europe and therefore in all of Italy, there were many religious boarding schools that were divided according to gender. With the development of the state education system, little by little it became increasingly organised throughout the territory, and with the drastic shortage of priests and nuns, many boarding schools managed by the clergy were closed. For this reason, many antique furnishings were sold off or even, in some cases, abandoned.
The elegance of the forms presented in this sideboard, make it an ideal addition to any type of decor. As the finish was applied to antique wood, a water-based colour and shellac were chosen. Understanding fully well that we want to convey to our clients not only the art, but also the history of the furniture in our possession, we would be pleased to provide any type of information.
