This sideboard was born of the transformation of an antique pharmacy counter dating back to 1820. The sideboard is in Empire style, characterised by the presence of half-columns applied to the four vertical supports that separate the three pairs of doors. As this counter was positioned in the centre of the pharmacy, the transformation resulted in the opening of the part that was exposed to the public into six doors and three drawers, while the part where the pharmacist worked was closed with wood. The sideboard, in top-quality Italian wood, cannot be disassembled. The length of the countertop is indicative of the quality of the wood used: the wooden plank is a single piece and calls attention to the centuries-old tree it came from.
On the left side the initials of the name of the pharmacy owner are branded into the wood. This creation gave rise to a unique sideboard that is still brimming with the history of the life of previous owners of the old pharmacy. We are always available to provide further information about this piece of furniture.
