Elegant, with diplomatic features, a writing table, more commonly known as a desk, that draws its inspiration from French models of the Regency period. The peculiarity, made authentic by our craftsman, is contained in the four female heads and the four tips on the end of the legs. These added elements are usually found in bronze or another metal reproduced on a large scale. In this case, the elements on the four legs are in hand-carved wood. The manual virtuosity of our craftsman in carving the four faces with perfect proportions and beautiful features is evident. The carved elements were then finished in gold leaf and only by observing the desk closely can one understand that they are not metal ornaments. The desk features chestnut briarwood veneer contoured by an inlaid rosewood fillet along all four sides. Moreover, the writing surface was embellished by the application of an olive green calfskin The sophisticated design of this writing table makes it suitable for a study or office, even in a completely modern or designer decor.
