Information: the author of this work is unknown most likely because with time his name was lost. At the beginning of the 1600s the depiction of battlefields characterised much of the artistic production and continued for two centuries. The battles depicted were very often imaginary and fantastic events interpreted by the author.
The frames, in a style typical of the 1600s, were constructed in limewood and finished in goldleaf. The austere and linear style was especially studied to exalt the dynamics and excitement of the battle.
The two battles are sold together as a pair.
